How does the transfer process of a Hungarian Ready-Made Ltd (Kft) work?
Our client selects a suitable Hungarian company for sale and sends us the required documents. Based on these, we prepare the transfer documents. Then the client either travels to our Budapest office or takes part in an online video identification with our lawyer. After this, they wait 2 weeks, and the Hungarian company is registered in their name. From that point, they can start operating the company.
For the transfer of the company’s bank account, personal presence is required. Therefore, the client needs to travel to Budapest, where one of our lawyers will accompany them to the bank to assist with the transfer of the corporate account.
Our office can also recommend an English-speaking accountant to the client, who will handle all necessary bookkeeping tasks.
In order to complete the company transfer, a Hungarian tax ID number is required for the new owner. If the client comes to Budapest in person, one of our colleagues will accompany them to the tax authority. In case the online video identification option is chosen, the client will need to provide a power of attorney to our colleague, who will then visit the tax authority on their behalf and obtain the personal Hungarian tax ID number for them.
